Motivation Nowadays, managers and professionals are rather busy with business and management, which keeps them from being up-to-date with the new trends of technology, especially in the field of environmental engineering. Today, with the speed of the internet world-wide, busy people like managers and professionals can acquire an accredit Master of Science degree (M.Sc.; official document) or certificate from the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar and with it a next career step without leaving their businesses and companies. Solution The Bauhaus-Universität Weimar in co-operation with the Asian Institute of Technology and University of Leeds is operating the E-learning platform-based long-distance education model, which offers an  accredit Master of Science and/or a certificate on Environmental Engineering and Management (EEM). It is intended to promote knowledge transfer to emerging economies world-wide along the lines of the idea of the European Higher Education Area to support the learning society approach for postgraduates with a specialisation in Environmental Engineering and Management.
